Hermits Peak Trail with Sam and Caleb - 2009

They boys decided that they wanted to go on a hike without the others, so we split the last hike of the year in two and this is the first one. It was quite nice going up and the weather was great. Sam was feeling bad just short of the top. But, when we went to bed, it started to rain and it didn't let up for a good while. The old tend actually did quite well, but I never waterproofed the ends and the back of the tent was soaked along with the boys' sleeping bag. It was a bit cold in the morning, and they decided that they would rather start back than go on. Painfully quick trip down the mountain!
